Early Childhood Education

Praxis Research has worked extensively with programs included in the North Carolina Initiative for Children (Smart Start) and and South Carolina's First Steps program. This work has included needs assessment, program evaluation, data collection, proposal writing assistance, longitudinal research, project evaluation, and early childhood workforce assessment.

Praxis Research has also been involved in other early childhood education efforts including work for the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, the Kellogg Foundation's SPARK initiative, The Bill Lee Foundation, The Mint Museum of Art, and the Child and Family Services Center of Charlotte.

The Praxis Research staff has been responsible for the development of administrative structures in several early childhood organizations. Related activities have included mission statement development, policy development, contractual services, personnel management, and other features of program management.

Career Preparation Programs

Praxis Research has been involved with College Tech-Prep programs since 1995 and has served both evaluator and trainer for programs in many counties across the state and as data analyst for the state program. Included in these services has been development of longitudinal databases to follow students into their post-secondary education and work experiences and two statewide studies to examine trends in College Tech Prep.

In 2000 Praxis was directly responsible for carrying out the North Carolina Business Symposium in Charlotte, NC and in producing the subsequent seminal report titled Workforce Development in the New Millennium:  North Carolina's Economic Edge.

Training/Grant Preparation

Praxis Research provides a variety of training and grant preparation services to clients that include various aspects of evaluation management, planning, and early childhood education. Praxis Research also maintains information useful in the identification of various public and private funding organizations and the development of proposals for grant requests.
